Emilio and Matteo Caravatti, Chiara Gugliotta and Elena Verri share the activities of the studio in Monza.
They combine professional works with a specific social engagement and a focus on public and community achievements. Projects have been often trying to underline the importance of the interrelation between human participation and architectural processes. Their jobs tend to combine in professional attention to a daily social commitment, as evidenced by the design experiences of marginality in geographical areas and social and public infrastructure projects in West Africa.
Among recent works will signal the physical rehabilitation center Jigiya So in Republic of Mali and in Italy, as a result of international competition, the building sites for the restructuring of a large public area in the historic center of Vercelli.
For their public infrastructure projects in West Africa have been awarded, among others, the Gold medal at XIIth International Prize for Sustainable Architecture in Ferrara (2017), an honorable mention at the Piranesi Award 2016 in Piran (Slovenia), special award Dedalo Minosse in Vicenza (2014) and the Special Prize Brick Award in Vienna (2010). Finalists of Medaglia d'Oro of Italian architecture in 2009 (special mention) and in 2015 (Social work) the studio has a long series of awards in design competitions in Italy.
