WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
Okka’s wastewater treatment plant was installed as part of a research & development project at Sárvár, in cooperation with University of Pannonia, in an agricultural-industrial area.
The purpose of the investment was to implement an in-place wastewater treatment technology with a complex, dynamic changing process control, treating of the wastewater generated in the adjacent poultry slaughterhouse. Thereby the environmental impact of the activity is significantly reduced, the resulting water quality can be released into living water.
The design was inspired by the defining architectural archetypes of the rural landscape. The unusual, elevated layout floating above the fields forms a gentle landmark. The cheerful, vivid colour represents the company’s logo, and draws attention on the inevitable but so far invisible processes that are essential in the food industry in order to preserve good environmental conditions for future generations.
