12 social housing
The plot where is located the project is a rural site in countryside. It is well preserved, however land pressure starts operating, bringing some sparse villas and first operations of property development. Therefore, the site suffers some fragmentations by plot divisions.
As we aim to start a city piece, we propose a project which assumes a frontal view toward public space and a built density. We revisit here a template of rustic houses, narrow, repetitive and aligned. The rhythm created by the project on the way of Colle initiates a design of public space which would generate a continuity for future and enough built density for the city.
The project is built around an enclosed garden used as a shared patio. We aim to design it as a strong element representing the public space of the project.
The building opening on public space counts two floors while the one in the plot’s backside is a ground floor.
The housing is based on typologies clearly identified: day space and night space. The day space is a single space, through North-South.
Most of the housing is designed in sections, and offers impressive high ceilings and zenithal light. A system of hollows creates outdoor intimate spaces, and transitional thresholds between public and private space.
