Residential Site Wyden
The original undercut slope of the Toss riverside divides the approximately 20000 square metre property into two different levels. On both levels stand two angled building figures, which enclose a shared courtyard. A loose tree plantation accompanies a public footpath along the hill. In the middle the path widens and leads to a more intimate residential courtyard, which gives its identity to its environement. The settlement structure welcomes views from all sides into the residential courtyard.Offsetting the balconies and the building figures break the ensemble into relaxed simple volumes and interlink them with its surroundings. The flats to the street have a generous southwest facing living space. The stairwell and bathroom units are arranged efficiently in the core. In the middle, the living space and dining room fill the length of the floor plan, looking out to both courtyards at either end. Likewise the bathrooms lie façade to façade, separating the living area from the bedrooms.
