Shui Wan 1979
Area-17 collaborated with New York-based Sergio Mannino Studio on the design of three distinct upscale show-flats in the Shuiwan 1979 residential tower in Shenzen. Beautiful nature surrounding the city inspired the colour palette that characterizes the interiors of this particular three-bedrooms apartment, as well as the choice of materials and finishes.
As the space is a show-flat, the creative team had to envision tastes and needs of the owners who would one day occupy the dwelling. Thinking of a young modern family, with a lively social life, they came up with a spacious living area that looks almost like a loft, but composed of sections with very specific functions each. The living room opens onto a balcony cladded in Carrara marble, offering a stunning view on Shekou Bay.
The potential clients would have also needed spaces to cultivate personal passions and spend private time. With this in mind, the team recreated stylish nests such as the musical lounge in the living area; furnished with great attention to details the three bedrooms; and realized two amazing spa-like bathrooms, where playfully elegant Bisazza tiles wrap a space flooded with light and furnished with every kind of amenities.
