Simple Housing - A Time Story
Simple Housing born as an Architectural Illustrations personal project, made up of about fifty images.
Simple Housing born as an Architectural Illustrations personal project, maybe therapeutic (for me), I think.
In this project I chase to work with few elements: light, volume, shadow, as I try to do in my professional designer practice.
Trough a gestual, pictorial, approach, I'm searching for scenarios devoid of any superficial element, pervaded by a merely apparent calm, because "Simple Housing" consists of evolving scenes, as if anything could happen at any moment.
Originally the project was made up of a dozen of drawings, then thanks to an ADV campaign (I made for an American Mortgage), I worked up to collect about fifty images.
More than an images collection, I mean "Simple Housing" is a project about time, "A time writing".
Using a "reverse method", I start from a finished image, where some actions ara consumated and, trough subtraction, I carried the narration to the point of the story that interests me... "The moment before that".
As soon I found this "Narration time" I stop the storytelling and I begin to define, in an increasingly minimal way, the scene with only 3 elements: volume, light, shadow.
In my point of view to be "in fieri" of Simple Housing implies parecipation by the viewer to complete the story in his own way.
