Saint Martin de Seignanx
Located near the Atlantic ocean on the south west of France at the border between the Basque region and the Landes forest.
The site is composed of an old house located on the north side of a nice landscape.
Bordered by high trees, the brief was to add a garage to protect tractors and cars from the unsatiable climate of this region.
Inspired by local architecture of the region, the project reinterprets corn dryers.
The wooden and simple façades are installed on a waist level concrete wall. The porous system composed of local wood lets natural light and views on the landscape adding a natural ventilation system.
The architecture is simple and minimal forming a balance between interior and exterior. The roof, respects the urban specifications adding identity to the project.
By its truthful form and fabrication system the project does not pretend to be remarquable.
It echoes to it’s territory and site, blending itself with character.
