Casa Play Black
The project rethinks the interior spaces of the early twentieth century Villa on the top of Turin hill.
The original division of the rooms is modified by the insertion in the space of a pinwheel of overlapping black planes that emphasizes the opening of new passages and new visual glimpses, enhances the existing ones and accompanies the user through the entire environment.
The new black tops, in contrast to the ethereal white of the existing walls, create a scenic space strongly characterized but at the same time neutral enough to accommodate and dialogue with the heterogeneous collection of furnishing accessories of the client.
The selection of a palette of materials declined on the same tone of black such as polished marble, matt lacquered wood, natural leather, smoked mirror and textured wallpaper coverings, creates an alternation of finishes that reflect and play with light in a different way helping to create a vibrant and never predictable space, in which the gaze is attracted by different plays of shadows and reflections.
The result is a dynamic space, with indefinite and never closed boundaries, where is possible insert heterogeneous objects, where the change is possible and the mind remains open to indeterminate.
