BESphoto 2013 - Albano da Silva Pereira
This work was done for the exhibition of the BESphoto 2013 Award, at the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon.
The project for the temporary exhibition of Albano da Silva Pereira’s work had as its primary objective to create a course punctuated by different photographs associated with objects, ending in a large wall where a set of images define a large atlas.
The main part of this project, which defines not only the route of the exhibition, but also a border between two environments, is a box where is projected a film from the author. The structure of this room has been designed with a lightweight and modular structure in wooden battens lined with plasterboard, where the thickness of the walls can hide all the audiovisual equipment needed for the projection, accessible by doors and trapdoor.
The whole interior of the box is black creating an environment conducive to the visualization of moving images. Low and narrow box access bores allow light from the exposure room not to enter the film case.
Along the outer path, so that the relation of the objects with the photographs was clear, small metallic structures painted in black with a simple design were placed.
Behind the central object, accompanying its width, a bench has been placed so that the visitor has a moment of stop in front of the great atlas hidden behind the box of projection.
