Sequence. The new proposal integrates the consolidated pre-existing urban system and, because it is a reconstruction,
it also integrates the fundamental characteristic which always marked the house that has already existed: its empty, concretely its patio.
Single Family House located in Travassós of Orgens, Viseu.
The old center of the village of Travassós de Orgens, develops in an organic way, keep up with the natural topography of that fraction of territory with a medium / strong slope in the north / south direction.
Its road network is consequently also sinuous and uneven.
The house is located right in the old center of the town but in its nascent end, of less constructive density.
From the altimetric point of view, it is located between the highest zone of the town, punctuated by the chapel, and the intermediate zone punctuated by the collective source and tank.
The house and the adjacent housing are located in the urban context described and, simultaneously, because they are still located in the upper zone, they benefit from an unobstructed view of part of the population that is at the lower level, more remote villages and landscape surrounding.
At the same time to these general conditions of location, the existence of an extensive set of terraces exists, which extends well beyond the limits of the plot of work in this area, and which characterize and formally define that place.
Therefore, the new proposal integrates the pre-existing consolidated urban system and, because it is a reconstruction, also integrates the fundamental characteristic that always marked the housing that once existed there: its emptiness, concretely its courtyard.
