Camposaz 7:7 Canal San Bovo - Retirement home pavillion
Camposaz is a workshop that takes place in the village of Canal San Bovo (TN) - Italy, in an area of great landscape value at the feet of the Dolomites. The aim of the workshop is to design and self-build wooden architectural objects for landscape enhancement. During the Camposaz workshop the participants are required to ideate and assemble wood constructions, following the thematic suggestions provided by the organizers and developing eco-friendly, practical and sustainable design projects.
The aim of Camposaz 7:7 is to enhance the quality and the use of public spaces in the retirement house of Canal San Bovo, in the Vanoi Valley. This purpose was achieved designing and self-constructing new wooden outdoor furniture, in order to encourage the guests to stop and rest in the garden of the house, and a new panoramic terrace which is built over an existing terracing which was unused. Both installations are conceived considering the needs of old people, with the aim of increasing the interaction between guests and visitors within the retirement house. Particular attention has been paid to accessibility and comfort, in order to improve the use of the built elements. During the design and construction phases guests could interact with the workshop participant , contributing to the design phase and attending with compassionate curiosity to the construction phase.
