Lightness and brightness. Suitable match for the architecture of two office buildings and warehouses in the production area at Piediripa in Macerata. Simple and composite materials: sheet metal, glass and plaster recycle and combine industrial and rationalist language. A light but not frivolous architecture, careful in translating architectural forms into environmental compatibility and energy saving. Design reflection bases its foundations on the assumption that even a simple shed, as there are thousands in our territory, is an environmental and social problem to be solved with a conscious architecture project. The design of a simple industrial building is the occasion of building a fragment of the contemporary Italian landscape without going beyond unnecessary aesthetics.
The project seeks not to be invasive and to become objectively precise. The two offices designed outside the production volumes, parallel to the road, hide the backlogs. They create a common front with remarkable glass-faced windows that overlook the wide meadows. These transparent, luminous solids at night are protected against extremes and high on closed, white walls. Different color, dark sheds, white and glass for offices. it demands a life of its own. The office building revolves around a court of natural light, immediately visible from the entrance double height where the top floor is facing. The white wall, which vertically envelops the transparent office volume, becomes a horizontally projecting cover, creating interesting light and continuity effects between the two blocks.
