The Pressure of Light
Nuno Cera, at the invitation of A+A Books, traveled the country on a winter trip, capturing, through his gaze of photographer and artist, images of all the works by Architect Álvaro Siza, selected by himself, and which are part of the Álvaro Siza Architectural Guide: Built Projects in Portugal, now released. In this book, Nuno Cera’s photographs are like an essay on the freedom to capture the architect’s signature and also on guiding the user’s gaze towards his sensitivity, towards what a work of architecture always conveys, as a testament of the human genius, especially when built according to the design of one of world’s most admired architects.
The exhibition The Pressure of Light – Álvaro Siza by Nuno Cera rehearses the journey that the book proposes through the photographs on display, some of a poetic nature in relation to a space, others cuts of forms on matter and place.
