A first order acquired by the roads that branch off from a couple who bought land, looking for a house to renovate, and contacting an architect from Rennes to do their project.
Our first appointment was a privileged moment of discussion which was not polluted by any visual. Together we discussed their history, terrain, choice, location, constraints and desires. If this propensity for listening and discussion is one of my traits of character, it is certain that this first experience has forged in me a way of doing.
The project takes place along the adjoining wall to develop a long west facade and thus open the view perpendicularly to the neighboring gardens, offering a succession of plant plans. In addition to this device, a covered terrace, in the center of the house, comes to bring an intimate outside space.
The project is divided into frames that evolve from 2,50m to 5,00m. They are separated by wooden framed walls, the frame is wooden frames of 8x20cm section. The creeping ceiling values the interior volumes with a ceiling height of 3.10m for an outside template of 3.50m.
The project is called "Le Hangar" because this is how the owners have nicknamed it : this is how they think their house.
