Secondary School G. Pascoli
The Cit Turin district is considered a small miniature city. The strong urban character of its building and its public space system make it a quaint and appetizing neighborhood. The proposal for the reconstruction of the G. Pascoli school wants to strengthen the urban and community character of this city piece. For this reason, it is important to relocate the school’s main access by moving it to the court, as opposed to the current access (via Duchessa Jolanda). There will be a common courtyard that will connect via Casalis with corso Ferrucci, creating a new public pedestrian permeability and thus a place for citizens and students. This operation is also decisive in order to make the building completely accessible, so that devices for overcoming architectural barriers are not technical elements separated from the space concept of the complex. The project proposes a reconfiguration of the building that preserves and enhances the original typology and achieves the maximum potential of flexibility and accessibility. The classrooms are separated by walls made up of sliding and mobile panels that allow the space flexibility of the environments, obtaining classrooms that can vary in surface and capacity thus adapting to the specific needs of the school. This device also organizes all the other premises of the building as well the laboratories, the relax-bar area and the library.
