GENS

The extension of a school complex (administration and library) is skipped underneath the existing covered playground, not to distort the original bioclimatic logic of the mass plan, nor to alter its relation to the urban fabric around.
External thermal insulation consists of a white corrugated cladding, as cheap as simple, and sun breakers to the south. They both reinforce the rigorous efficiency of original principle.
Specific actions complete the overall scheme: a new canopy, raw oak trunks and metaphoric foliage; nice windows for the library, between street and yard; a new entrance to the site, wooden boards and climbing hydrangea which will cover soon the street facade…
