KOBARON SQUARE
The intervention recovers and includes the environments of the park (natural/green) and the church (urban/square) achieving a new public area of recreation, giving priority to the characteristic elements of the mining history of the place and maintaining its identity. A weathering steel walkway links square and park.
The area of the church has been pedestrianised, recovering the identity of the public area for the social life and relax under the existing bananas: the rounded settles create new spaces supported in the concentric pavement that covers the scene, forming linked designs. The church recovers its connection with its close environment through a new access with a sculptural ramp.
The existing park is completed with ornamental deciduous woodland and waterfront woodland. Shadow spaces are created and at the same time a natural barrier that hides the vision of the surrounding roads. In the church environment grass and perennials are planted, because of its easy maintenance and its high chromatic value, emphasizing the naturalistic values of the environment.
