Prokopovo náměstí | Future past

The square used to be vibrant place crowded with people. It was local center with market, coffee and small shops. Nowadays it's wasteland, deformed by communist era and 90's post-modernist interventions. The essential idea of project was simple: Transform past into the future. Restore all those shops, market and coffee.
Prokopovo náměstí used to be surrounded by cars and it's traffic. Change of road pattern and align with pedestrian path, creates a slow-motion space witch is open to the building parter.
The key element of whole square is lighting, which is hiding inside big umbrellas. Hydraulic system is activating whole system according to the weather condition and actual need, like market, open space cultural actions, workshops, etc.
