Our design called for the removal of the original wooden mouldings to make the rooms more abstract and to emphasize the spaces. The entrance hall was made asymmetric by removing a built-in cupboard that was built along its walls. The original doors and doorframes were taken away and new openings, with widths that vary according to the width of the rooms, were inserted. This was done so that the connections between the hall and the rooms would become identical, abstract and dynamic.
Sliding doors with different colour combinations further dramatize the dynamic visual relationships.
To emphasize this, strong colours were applied. For example, the cupboards in the kitchen are made of yellow laminated wood. The reflection of coloured light through the serving hatch from the kitchen to the dining room strengthens the connection between these rooms.
