"Remembrance" - Cloud Installation with Transparent Straws
The process of remembering is identified with filling up an infinite number of separate elements. Abnormal amount of 550,000 transparent straws were densely accumulated to create a cloud installation. Improvisationally yet carefully I pressed out both ends of 60 centimeter-long straws to shape the clouds.
Like straws, when an infinite number of transparent elements is overlapped one another and it then bring whiteness, it is similar to the phenomenon that an airy sense of remembrance gradually visualizes through ones mind.
I have expressed the idea of formless and fluid "air" and "cloud" via the human function of "remembrance."
