Maria Gelvi (1987) graduated from the University of Campania in 2011, earning a degree in Architecture and Building Engineering with an experimental thesis. In 2015 she earned a doctorate in Architectural Design Urban and Architecture Restoration, with a research study that investigates project processes through discretization of composition reality into elements. That same year she became a Contract Professor in the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design of the Università degli studi della Campania ‘Luigi Vanvitelli.’ She is the author of numerous articles and essays published in books and scientific magazines. In 2014 she published her first book, Elementary and Complex Architecture, a critical work on the dynamics of the contemporary architecture project, and in 2015, Massullo 2.0, a report on the Villa Malaparte workshop of the architect Adalberto Libera. She receives invitations to tutor international design workshops and participates in design competitions, for which she has won mentions and prizes. In 2015 she was part of the group that created the Biomediterranean Pavilion at Expo Milan.
