Xabier Corberó House and Studio
Photo essay by Daniel Schäfer Studio
In Esplugues de Llobregat, the sculptural home and architectural labyrinth of Xavier Corberó emerges as a living artwork and a physical expression of the artist’s imagination. Captured by Daniel Schäfer, this editorial photography story explores the relationship between sculpture, architecture and inhabited space through an atmospheric and contemplative visual language. The series moves through monumental arches, geometric courtyards, shadowed interiors, Mediterranean light and intimate domestic details, revealing a creative environment suspended between monumentality and intimacy.
Rather than simply documenting a private residence and atelier, the project reveals Corberó’s architectural landmark as a deeply inhabited space shaped by repetition, silence, materiality and spatial tension. Personal objects, reflections and traces of everyday life create a subtle counterpoint to the monumental character of the architecture, while the photographic language developed by Daniel Schäfer Studio constructs a visual narrative suspended between editorial documentation and artistic interpretation.
Through a painterly approach to architecture and interior photography, Daniel Schäfer Studio develops visual narratives connecting contemporary art, spatial experience and Mediterranean architecture.
