OVOID
"Ovoid" challenges the relationship between the viewer, the environment and the work, offering a physical and sensory experience through perception.
Suspended under the Wadi Hanifah Bridge in Riyadh, this 35-meter illuminated red ovoid activates, redefines and transforms the landscape, questioning notions of scale and materiality.
The intervention establishes an immediate connection with the human body,
confronting the public with a constant play of proportions and references that
reconfigure their perception of the site and their position in it. As the viewer
approaches, the ovoid emerges as a visually imposing form that offers an overwhelming, yet intimate and evocative corporeal experience.
The red light emanating from its interior bathes the atmosphere, while its reflection in the waters below the bridge doubles its visual scale, creating a duality between
physical presence and ephemeral illusion.
