BALLU
The apartment is located on the 5th floor of a Haussmann building on the corner of rue Ballu and rue de Vintimille close to the Butte Montmartre in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.
The project involves the complete renovation of this 112m² apartment while retaining and restoring its Haussmann heritage qualities. The intervention made here decompartmentalizes all the rooms in a row and transforms the doors into passageways in order to streamline movements and natural light.
Its corner location gives the apartment a unique shape with a rotunda dining room at the heart of the plan. We find the curve throughout our intervention. The transformation of the locks which had no use in the original plan other than to guarantee the privacy of each room are transformed into a library arch.
The color palette used for this apartment is contrasting. The pastel pink color takes up all the interventions in the living rooms and combines with the natural color of the Hungarian point parquet and the light gray walls giving these spaces a comforting warmth. In contrast, the entrance which leads to all the rooms is painted in a dark green shade which accentuates the experience of the path and the light in the apartment.
