Market hall
In the south, the arcades that overlook the public space house a protected alleyway that accommodates terrace tables or occasional stalls. These new outdoor spaces, connected to the market hall, will bring life back to the area and contribute to revitalizing the surrounding activities. In the north, a square with a wide outdoor staircase and integrated ramp will replace the existing access and serve as a landmark for the market hall. Treated with a metal frame, reminiscent of the 19th-century Auray market halls, the new halls have a resolutely contemporary design that contrasts with the adjacent stone buildings. The industrial language is reinterpreted, but its essence is preserved through metal posts and beams, vaults, and large glass windows. With almost all glass facades, there is a high degree of visual and functional permeability between the interior and exterior. In the south, each stall has a counter and accordion door facing the street. The surroundings are designed in harmony with the downtown urban development project of the historic center.
