Horizontal Folie
The pavilion is proposed as a neutral element, elevated on columns in a marshy area surrounded by trees, in a deep widening halfway through the reserve's route. This device provides a space for dynamic and flexible use in the midst of a conservation ecosystem, an interpretation center, designed to merge the educational and cultural experience with its natural surroundings.
The design articulates a single large space with its context through a perimeter thickness, formed by a glazed enclosure and a mesh one, which acts as an environmental mediator. A compact module condenses essential services, condensing visitor reception and operational spaces at the beginning of the building. The intervention is completed with a walkway that links the main path to the building, in a winding trail among trees. This route is conceived as another event in the overall experience, integrating with the landscape and multiplying points of visual connection.
The Horizontal Folie amalgamates interpretive, cultural, and recreational functions through its spatial versatility, with an environment where fluvial fluctuations are in sync with lunar and seasonal cycles. This piece seeks to enrich the understanding of the surrounding environment and foster a dynamic interaction with the landscape.
