HOUSE IN THREE HEIGHTS
The proposal takes as its starting point the pre-existing small house to which the new project had to be linked to incorporate a series of programs and spaces. This first building, with the purpose of achieving the greatest breadth of view over the landscape is located on the northern limit of the site, thus distancing itself from the rest of a site that extends towards the south west, on a slope that descends progressively towards a flat from which you access the land.
This distance between the preexistence and the access is what the proposal understands as the project area and at the same time as the opportunity to appropriate that landscape.
This is how a building is proposed that is drawn from a route that progressively unfolds towards the hillside, building from there a sequence of spaces and enclosures that allow the place and its relationships to be recognized.
Regarding its program and in view of the fact that the existing building fundamentally concentrates the living and service spaces, the project builds a new access that open a first view over the sea, at the same time that separates both bodies with a patio that falls toward the west. The project also incorporates bedrooms and new services which are distributed as the route descends.
Finally, and regarding the materiality of the project, we worked on a mixed structure that for the volumes that rest on the ground is considered a reinforced concrete plinth, while for the elevated or suspended structures it is built in steel.
