The task was to develop a communal housing estate. The four houses follow the contour lines of the plot. The communal pavilion with a fireplace, around which the buildings are grouped in a spherical row, is at the center of the surroundings.
Two houses each share one access route. The open stairwells facilitate social interaction between the residents and their surroundings. The kitchens of the apartments offer visual contact with each other via the staircase landings, creating a low-threshold opportunity for neighborly interaction.
Projections and recesses in the building create a variety of outdoor spaces and individual floor plans with niches and corners. Eight striking balcony towers in timber construction characterize the façade. Generous skylights extend the use of
the attic apartments.
The main façade is made of monolithic single-stone masonry, plastered and painted with a mineral finish. The alternating vertical and horizontal formwork boards of the wooden balconies are in the same color as the façade.
