OP-Zentrum Dortmund
The Klinikum Dortmund is a maximum care hospital and the largest hospital in North Rhine-Westphalia. The existing operating theatre centre at the North site was renovated and extended to 15 operating rooms with pre- and post-operative zones, ancillary rooms and service rooms. The new building now offers the opportunity to create a state-of-the-art medical infrastructure and optimise operational processes by shortening distances, strengthening internal connections and reorganising functionality.
In the new building, clusters of three operating theatres each with a pre-zone, sterile supplies storage and an introductory room are formed for more effective use of resources. The shared use of the introductory room has made it possible to gain additional space. The operating theatres are arranged directly on the façade and have large, floor-to-ceiling windows for direct daylight and a significantly improved working atmosphere for the doctors and nursing staff.
