HOUSE D
The single-family home in the west of Munich responds to the shape of its property with an elegant gesture: one of the corners of the building recedes into a rounded shape, allowing maximum use of the 630 m² plot area with over 330 m² of living space. At the same time, the building harmoniously contrasts with the arch-shaped green space opposite.
On the ground floor, the curve forms a chord between the residential building and the garage and creates a canopy in front of a representative entrance area. There, a free-standing quarter-turn exposed concrete staircase leads to the upper floor.
A continuous band of windows with varying parapet and lintel heights appears to spiral upwards as a continuous band around the building across all floors. Inside, several air spaces connect the floors with each other.
The open-plan living, dining and cooking area on the ground floor is expanded by large glazing and threshold-free transitions into the garden with a covered terrace area and outdoor kitchen.
On the upper floor there are two children's rooms with bathrooms, a play hallway and a loggia, in addition to a gallery study that can also be used as a guest room.
The parents' floor with bedroom, dressing room and wellness area is surrounded by a roof terrace on the recessed staggered floor.
With a fuel cell heating system, ventilation system with heat recovery, charging station for electric cars and smart home control system, the single-family home is technically state-of-the-art.
