HOUSE M
This holiday home in Bavaria’s Five Lakes Region was built on a beautiful lakeside property surrounded by old trees. The building volume, which is oriented lengthwise towards the lake’s east bank has an open spatial concept offering its residents unique views.
The building with its carefully crafted façade is clad in wooden shingles and horizontally structured by exposed concrete elements. Towards the lake its appearance is more transparent with large glass surfaces.
On the ground floor there are utility rooms and a covered boat storage area. The upper floor is accessed via a staircase covered in exposed concrete and offers a view of the lake. The private en-suite bedrooms are accessed from the shared living and dining area. By opening the large sliding elements, the interior and exterior spaces can become one. A terrace in the garden area and a large wooden deck with differently lit areas on the upper floor invite you to linger.
The clear design and careful selection of materials range from the facade through exposed concrete surfaces to built-in furniture and flooring made of Douglas fir floorboards.
With a modern gas condensing boiler, photovoltaic system on the roof, a smart home control system and controlled ventilation with heat recovery, the house is technically future-oriented.
