The building is set on a privileged site somewhat elevated above the city centre. From the up- per storey a spectacular view opens up to Frankfurt’s skyline. The entire building is designed around this vantage point. Contrary to the normal layout, the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the living quarters on the upper storey. The most spectacular vista can be enjoyed from the large familiy dining table, the true high point of the house.
The sculptural appearance of the building is enhanced by uniform façades of clinker masonry. Light grey-beige stones with subdued, hand-coated surface in Danish standard format were used. All materials were selected for value and durability - just as the design itself, rather than echoing short-lived trends, is committed to a contemporary but enduring architectural lan- guage.
