AC House
Located on the outskirts of Brandsen in a neighborhood of farms that was formerly part of the field of a stay. This house is located in a generous lot with a northeast orientation in the front.
The commission consisted in making a weekend house, it is an isolated volume in the form of a "strip" located transversely on the ground/earth. It was decided to remove it from the front line, thus generating more privacy. From this decision, a more open and transparent facade was resolved, having this treatment also in the back line, thus partially blurring the interior/exterior limit, giving visual/space continuity, crossed ventilation, better sunlight and lighting although regulated by semi-covered galleries. The side faces were worked in a more closed way. It was also supported by a platform that falls from the ground, taking advantage of better views of the landscape, of the poplars, generating long perspectives on the horizon and reinforcing the idea of horizontality.
As for its organization, the services part (patio, laundry, storage), the public part (kitchen-dining room, living room, toilet) and the private part (bedrooms, desk, bathroom) are clearly differentiated, resulting in the entrance hall and garage/kitchenette as articulators between the functions mentioned above. At the same time, a circulatory axis was thought of in a longitudinal direction that sews up the different situations.
Given the temporary use of the house, a noble, low-maintenance material was sought above all. The exposed concrete, in addition to solving these aspects, gives the work a certain contemporaneity, rusticity, identity, flexibility, gives its platform, its structure and its roof that acts as a closure and container of the entire program. In this way, a homogeneous and stripped-down composition is achieved.
