L'Arbre Blanc - restaurant and bar
Realized by the architect Pauline Percheron, the project involves the development of a bar on the groundfloor, a restaurant on the 1st floor and a panoramic bar on the rooftop located in the 17th floor of the Arbre Blanc building designed by the architects Sou Fujimoto, Nicolas Laisné, dream Dimitri Roussel and OXO Manal Rachdi.
The project plays with the textuality of the natural wood which is folded, curved and veneered. The structure starts as a staircase then becomes a railing to finish as a bench. The white colour is treated through various textures: the mineral terrazzo floor, the braided acoustic textile, the bright backlit folded paper and the massive white concrete bar and sinks.
The ground floor hosts the kitchen visible from the public area and a tapas bar with a terrace at the foot of the building. Only three architectural elements make up the ground floor: the perforated oak furniture that separates the kitchen from the dining room and creates visual connections between the two / the white concrete bar which is in the center of the space / and the wooden curved staircase that winds its way upstairs.
On the 1st floor the staircase slips to become a railing around a double height void, a wide bench follows the structure of the building to create a planter while other benches partition the space.
On the 17th floor, the space between interior and exterior has been kept raw. The structural concrete is left apparent, only a long white concrete bar reminders one of the ground floor, separating the space with three white folded paper suspensions.
