Sobek is a project located in a wasteland area of the former Wielemans Ceuppens brewery. Today, following a permanent flooding, the site is called by residents le Marais du Wiels. On this 'Tiers Paysage' is erected the Métropole, the old brewery offices building that survived the demolition. The intervention proposes duplication of the Métropole, where a local library and event spaces are located. The project consists of:

an access parvis on Van Volxem Avenue.
a main volume hosting the library, a small kitchen and the service rooms.
a light structure within the old Métropole building, which provides different reading spaces and free-use spaces. This triad offers the possibility of various activities to take place simultaneously. A Stalker projection, a creative workshop for kids, a poetry lecture, a LAN tournament or a small piano concert, are programmatic examples of what Sobek (and its partners Wiels and Brass could offer with a view to revitalize this landlocked part of Forest neighbourhood.
