Memorial Chapel in Kamnik
Kamnik's memorial landmark. Architect Andrej Mlakar's tribute to the victims of post-war massacres.
In 2014, Kamnik municipality started a contest to design a memorial landmark to remember the victims of post-war massacres. As a common element of the Slovenian countryside, Architect Andrej Mlakar thought of a shrine, where different religious ceremony could take place. Mlakars work was selected among the other and today the memorial blends easily with the background of birch wood and the rocky mountains of the Upper Carniola region.
