The new shopping complex is intended to be read as a large urban figure, despite the differences between the various building parts. Its significance in urban planning terms means that it should function as part of the heart of Berlin. The shopping centre itself is made up of five autonomous building elements that form a compact ensemble with their internal squares and streets.
