THE SUSTAINABLE MISUNDERSTANDING or WE DON’T GIVE A S*** ABOUT SUSTAINABLE IMPERATIVE IF IT’S ONLY ANOTHER ORNAMENT TO ARCHITECTURE
The Sustainable Misunderstanding is a set-up we made, togheter with Fabio Cappello, for the last Unfolding Pavilion, curated by Sara Favargiotti, Davide Tommaso Ferrando and Daniel Tudor Munteanu, during the 16th Venice Biennale 2018.
The installation wants to warn against the continuous disappearance of the Architecture, today more and more submerged by rhetoric, technology and spectacularization.
The local chosen for the proposed installation is the bathroom.
The set-up consisting of two objects:
The first object of the set-up consists of a print of the unpublished photomontage from the serie "New Rescues for Old Historic Centers", framed and affixed on the front wall to the toilet.
The second object of the set-up consists of a supply of five rolls of customized toilet paper, whose single sheets reproduce an alternative version of the famous Venturi's "I Am a Monument" sketch.
