WORK & TURN
Furniture was designed and developped to be completely made by a 3-shaft CNC
combined cutting and milling machine. The cutting and mounting of the table was made in a fablab.
The « Work & Turn » table was made to naturally bring answers to two possible uses : a working desk / cutting area that can be used for classes or cooking workshops as well as a dining table / working area that can be used by all co-workers.
Rotation turned out to be the naturally easiest way to manipulate it. It combines answers to all requested obligations. It takes place in two steps. First of all, the two side legs fold up 120° like butterfly wings. Then the tray can rotate. Once this is done, the legs go back to their original place, perpendicular to the table.
The table is electrically connected through a plug placed at the very end of one of the legs. It has two plugs on each sides, allowing users to connect either their laptops, blenders or cell phones...
The table is more than four meters long, with its two extension leaves. It required a particular study for support and stability. It can also have wheels, to ease weight and handling.
