Fontainebleau New Tourist information Office 2.0 Betwenn history and modernity.
Relocated on the ground floor of a heritage building near the famous castle, the tourist office is totally renewed. In the classic program that suggested dividing the different stands in the room, we favored another form of organization to facilitate exchanges between staff and visitors. The challenge is to thwart the habitual behavior of tourists who are most likely to collect the documentation.
This change of habit is materialized by a large central island (3mx18m) custom designed to integrate micro-uses such as reception or bar. Refined in its materials and details, it consists of a black painted medium plate, grooved on the edge and inlaid with fine brass angles, and facades plated brass also.
This deliberately limited range of materials is complemented by an acoustic suspended panel made of wood wool. A white paint on the walls aims to neutralize the decoration particularly busy room.
This immaculate hull is accompanied by a black quartz concrete floor. It is preceded by an entrance hall equipped with platforms, adorned as the brass angle plate. The tourist office is also a connected place, with screens on the walls and an virtual reality room. It is placed at the end of the office to invite visitors to discover the space and enjoy this new place. Its polycarbonate partitions also form the walls of the adjoining shop.
Suspended Sammode lamps and chairs signed by the Bouroullec brothers designers round off the atmosphere that is both simple and chic.
