Hexagon 6G is a modular system of wooden platforms for relaxation and sunbathing designed for landscapes where the preservation of natural ambiences is a top priority. It was envisioned as a result of a longterm study of coast and embankment rearrangements with non-invasive methods which have been our company's key-study for a decade.
We developed a product design which can be used as the alternative to the conventional praxis of the overuse of concrete as the basic construction material and at the same time cultivate it in a highly ecological, functional and aesthetical manner.
The design solution is in a form of hexagonal wooden modules dimensioned upon the human body measurements /side length of 1,5 m and an area of approx. 6,0 m2/. Individual modules, suitable for max. 3 persons, can easily be arranged in grouped formations of different sizes and adjusted to the site's terrain.
The base of the module is a hexagram with gently inclined upper surfaces adjusted to the lying body position. Single module consists of wooden construction covered with wooden planks protected and finished to provide maximal comfort. 4 different types of basic module were developed which can form numerous combinations variating from duos, trios or multiple module groups thus creating unique geometric landscapes. The wooden islands manifest with sculptural affects and with great usefull value as well. Simple assemblage on the site and the usage of all natural materials enables their installation even in the most sensitive natural environments. Beside usage in the natural coastal ambiences, the modular system of wooden platforms also makes an ideal urban equipment to be used in touristical, sports and recreational spaces such as hotel resorts, camps and parcs.
