The new Faculty of Architecture for the University of Dresden is designed as a place of interaction and community, in which the user can identify itself, at the work place, in the architectural implementation of the concept of "home": the archetype, the basic shape of architecure, which is extruded to the required length of the building. Full and empty spaces are enclosed by a protective casing, which is both physical and conceptual.
