José Hevia

The loft was built on a part of the supposed rooftop terrace of the building. For this reason, the floors maintained the inclination of the old drainage slopes and for this reason the whole apartment t was sloping and uninhabitable. So the main design solution derives from this basic spatial feature and the strategy was based on the idea to divide the flat into four platforms of similar areas, where the fire place is conceived as a central piece and main organizational element. This chimney, triangular in base, ascends to the skylight that on its behalf allows the sky to enter the house and the clouds to be reflected in the shiny porcelain floor.
