Acne Studios open the doors to a flagship store on Potsdamer Straße, in the center of Berlin’s art gallery district. The store continues to present Acne Studios’ new interior aesthetic, defined by stainless steel walls and bespoke furniture.
“Berlin is a quite emotional city for us, as it was the first city outside of Scandinavia where we opened a shop more then a decade ago. The Acne Studios Potsdamer store is in a neighborhood without any fashion stores, except Andreas Murkudis, and with it's many galleries, the neighborhood has a special energy. The building and space is beautiful. I think we will be very happy here.”
– Mikael Schiller, Chairman.
The Potsdamer store is purposefully raw with the wish to keep the location’s unique original character and details, giving it its own special energy. The layout unveils a labyrinth of rooms and passages, illuminated by the repetitively hung sculptural light fixtures. Sharp stainless steel walls are placed in front of chalky pale yellow concrete walls, inspired by the colour of Berlin taxis. The white terrazzo floor and sculptural furniture adds a softness, contrasting with the long steel tables that run through the space.
The new 260 sqm Berlin store carries the full ready-to-wear collections for men and women, including the current Fall/Winter 2015 collection as well as denim, accessories and footwear. Future openings include two additional locations in New York, each created with the ambition to have its own identity, designed to fit that specific area.
