DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR THE CANYON VIEW ACCOMMODATION (CaVA) COMPETITION
A controlled modification of the ground level drives the visitor into a central lookout point from where the landscape can be contemplated in its full potential and from where the remaining architectural spaces are articulated.
The scheme aims to take advantage of the landscape from the interior spaces, whilst being subtly camouflaged from the exterior, becoming almost impercetible from afar. The goal was to achieve this without forgetting an emphasis on the horizontality of the rock strata of the Grand Canyon.
