Offices of Estudio Jurídico MORON
BAMO is entrusted the construction of the new offices of Estudio Jurídico MORON. The project, located in the main area of a small town on the south east of the city of Córdoba, stands out due to its clean lines, solid materials, and harmony with the town's low-rise housing around it.
It is an H shaped single-storey project with three sectors, a front semi-public and reception sector, with view onto the gravel courtyard; another sector with the same dimensions for the professional's private activities with an office with view onto the great simple courtyard garden highlighted by an old tangerine tree. On the municipal line, solidity and privacy will be transmitted, through a concrete plank wall, a great rusty metal door that allows seeing the back building between lines. A gravel courtyard with a small olive tree and a light wood deck form a foyer redirecting the sight to the interior through the vast window between the two party walls. The professional and owner set out his needs, namely simplicity, ample well-lit spaces and a private office integrated into a meeting room.
These areas are separated by a piece of wood that seems to be embedded in the center of the project. When separating from the party walls it creates two small courtyards that provide natural light to every space, even the service areas. The restroom, kitchen and file room are camouflaged by chinaberry tree paneled walls that hide floor-to-ceiling doors that seem not to be there between vertical strips. The challenge was creating an open integrating office breaking plans of traditional law firms, keeping the privacy required for its clients. Therefore, it was decided to design a simple warm masculine space, using fine materials in their pure state, such as unfinished wood, exposed concrete and unplastered walls. The criterion is emphasizing plans and volumes. As concrete ribbons embracing large windows that seem to levitate over the surface, the project opens a game between the interior and exterior, allowing guests to see the light run over every space.
