Narciso
“Narciso” is a simple mirror resting on the ground, making fun of nature, sky, trees, clouds, birds in flight and men.
Perfectly integrated into the soil of Mantua “Parco dell'Arte” it reflects the forms and colours of nature and the small and big movements of flora and fauna returning an upside down image of lanscape and its changes. The artwork first attracts, then causes confusion showing the doubling between the subject and the image of it, and finally raises a question about the ambiguous dualism between reality and perception of reality. As in the myth of Narcissus, reality is captured and returned from unusual angles causing a change, a transformation, an awareness of what is around us and how we perceive it.
