Store in Barcelona
Maria Roch, fashion designer and owner of Maria Roch Store is a detailed, exclusive, elegant, romantic, sensual and adaptable professional. These were the key indicators to face this project, the emotions that the space should transmit.
It consists of a rectangular 100m2, a very narrow space with a big window at the back which leads to the typical spanish “patio”. The green backyard filled with plants and flowers, connects the store with the atelier and brings light and freshness to the customers walking through all the way to the designer’s atelier that has a warm and domestic atmosphere. The store is located in Calle Laforja, at the heart of Sant Gervasi, a residential area of Barcelona with the historical Eixample architecture characterised with its squared squares.
For the space’s layout the designer’s patterns have been drawn on the flooring combining lineality and waves, looking for imperfection to break with the straightness of the space. We can appreciate the drawings on the carpet in grays that reminds of natural materials which the designer refers to in all her collections. The colour and shape of the carpet contrasts with the floor - smooth and even, shiny nude colour that predominates in the space and which the brand identifies with.
If we look up, we see once again the shapes contrast, with a straight hanger that covers all the store in its perimeter and leads us to the back where we can find the rounded fitting rooms, with velvet curtains which give a classy and sensual touch.
Another key element is the mirror, with which the showcase has been built and it appears in the whole store as sculptures and builds up a dimensions game which brings versatility and dynamism.
For the lightning, suspended lanes of light bulbs have been used and fluorescent bulbs in strategic spots that give a romantic touch to the space.
