The bull, which is icon of energy and fertility, he used to do hard works in the fields of the countryside of Emilia Romagna.
Since the birth of Lamborghini company, these silent and extended fields have seen the best sport cars ever built in the plant of Sant'Agata.
Our project is to realize two installations in a land very sensitive to changes. For this reason, it's necessary knowing well the Lamborghini brand and its important territory, before realizing that.
Sant'Agata is surrounded by a level valley, characterized by a rural passion, where the fields of wheats, tomatos, onions and beet sugar, create beautiful colours in the surrounding atmosphere.
Far away from the most important ways of communication, Lamborghini company is one of the main source of employment for people of our territory, with its innovative and visionary cars, which are the product of a constant research on materials and aerodynamics.
The aim of two new installations is to blend these two aspects, the countryside and the visionary research of Lamborghini, into a multi-purpose element, able to be integrated and create a point of break in the context at the same time.
We propose an alternative idea of roundabout, where during the last few years it has preferred using vertical elements in order to identify a place, giving value to the space-time continuum and the horizontality, rather than just the space and the verticality.
In order to do this, the monuments result as two identical gates which identify the access road to the Lamborghini factory. Like inside a bottom-up pulsation modelling the land in determined way, level until that moment, the two elements will seem excluded from the territory, reminding the long canal banks along the streets of this area.
Cut along the SP255 axis by a geometric subtraction, the gates will result being unconventional from the point of view of the offered perspective and its conformation. Without optical interruptions along the main axis, the road will be framed by the two elements, hightlining its importance for the territory and Lamborghini brand.
Tecnically, the manufactured is made of a 'exposed reinforced concrete' central structure that will lay on 6x6m basement according to support the highest part of embankment, while the most external section that slopes toward the ground level, it's coated by cor-ten panels.
The central ground zone is characterized by a horizontal sequence of cor-ten fixed distance panels and by a paving in fine white gravel.
The part of manufactured in green will be treated with Trifolium Repens L (also called Trifoglio Ladino), a type of perennial plant which, during the summer-blooming season, it will give with his flower a diffuse white colour to two landmarks.
The nightlighting will be made of recessed floor linear lights that will proyect a sliding light, emphasizing the structure of gate in plastic and avoiding the disturbing factors upon vehicular traffic at the same time.
