Sports Hall of Benfeld
This project, located on the Benfeld sports area in Alsace (France), aims at restructuring and extending the former sports hall.
First, the architectural program includes the thorough renovation of the existing space and the necessary work to bring it up to standards. Secondly, a new sports hall, with bleachers and a clubhouse, is created nearby,. The project also includes a new part which consists of a dojo and a boxing gym. In addition to this, new functional and convivial spaces are shared by both sports halls and make a link between them. The final complex offers a surface of approximately 3800 square meters.
Special attention is given to the various interior atmospheres with a careful choice of materials, colours and lightings. Wood is often used, be it outdoor or indoor, and marries with white or colourful walls and dark and polished floors.
This proposal thus seizes the opportunity to structure the area through the consistent and judicious organization of all of its buildings. Furthermore, new outdoor areas are created to welcome the users ; these exterior spaces also enhance the new buildings.
Finally, besides the goal of architectural and environmental quality, another important aspect of this project is to adopt an approach of low energy consumption, whether for the new spaces or for the restructured ones.
